Heritage Crew: Is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) a newly established youth-led organisation that focuses on creative engagement and the development of artistic and Heritage skills for young people.

Heritage Crew provides other young people with the opportunity to look through local archives relating to black British history. We love to encourage expression through all art forms, whether it be music, visual art, creative writing, digital media, or trying something new.

Whilst Heritage Crew strives to be youth-led, it is important to note that knowledge only lives on as far as it is passed on, so we look to the senior or older professional members of our society to help guide the youth. This will be through offering mentoring and sessions on their chosen creative practice, and intergenerational work.

Meet The Team:

Heritage Crew consists of 3 bright minds, Gina Tavares Manuel, Tshayi Hercules, and Liv Dixon, who all work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that each project is an educational and eye-opening experience for all who partake. We all want to make sure that this is a safe space for all involved and that each individual can take something memorable away after each project we do. What people are saying...

  • Really worthwhile and full of information. Love the use of performance to portray characters and bring history to life.
  • A brilliant walk which shares (African) history in a well-researched, knowledgeable way. We need more of this input in our schools.
  • This is the second time I've attended the walk and feel there is so much more to learn. Joe’s knowledge, creativity and enthusiasm mean I could easily stay for the whole day.
